Max and I have been enjoying a lot of fine restaurant dining this week.
On Monday we ate lunch with Grandpa and Leroy at the Royal Fork (okay, not quite "fine").
Grandpa's birthday festivities continued yesterday, with lunch at the Rockfish with the ladies from his office,
and tonight, with dinner at the Rockfish.
I hope they're feeding Sean this well in Quantico.

Happy three-month birthday, Sir Max!
A busy day- hopefully the next ten weeks will pass quickly if we pack our days like this.
Since Grandma's birthday was yesterday and Grandpa's is tomorrow, Aunt Katy drove to A-town to celebrate.
We had a birthday lunch with Grandpa at Calico Cupboard,
and birthday dinner-and-a-movie with
Grandma (the Rockfish, and In Her Shoes, respectively).
Also, Max had a big day.
He played (movie) with (and didn't just stare at)
the toys on his play mat for the first time.
He really seemed to get the cause-and-effect of hitting the rattle toy and kept himself entertained for more than an hour.

Sean left for the airport around 6 AM. Max woke up to say goodbye and was extra-cute for his papa.
Sean was able to call from baggage claim when he arrived in DC,
which was wonderful since he won't be able to call us again for at least three weeks.
Sean, we love you and already miss you like crazy. We're so proud of you!

Sean leaves early tomorrow morning for OCS so we are spending the night in Seattle.
We had dinner with the five other OCS candidates and their families and the captain and gunnery sergeant
in charge of recruiting. We ran a bunch of errands and hurried to the restaurant,
very impressed with ourselves that we were on time for once,
only to discover that the dinner started at 6:30 not 7.
But the food was great (and we actually ended up being served first somehow),
and everyone was really really nice.
We dressed Max up for the occasion.
After dinner, we took pictures with Uncle Jesky, Uncle Iffer, Lola, and Apong.
Then Sean and Max had some snuggle time.
